🖤The Story Behind the Design

I started working on this punk goth choker after a quiet night in my apartment. The power had gone out during a storm, and I was sitting on the floor with just candlelight and my sketchbook. No music, no noise. I drew this strange little goth doll with a butterfly-shaped body and long strands falling from her head. Butterflies are transformation. Dolls are the parts of us we hide. She looked calm but distant. I couldn’t stop thinking about her.

The next day I shaped her in stone clay. I gave her that small glass pearl in the center of her forehead because I had just lost something important and felt like I needed to see things more clearly. It is like a third eye. The beads hanging from her head reminded me of the gothic earrings my best friend used to wear in high school, when we’d sneak out late wearing black eyeliner and borrowed boots.

She’s imperfect, just like us. And that’s what makes her powerful.
