When I began shaping this colorful clown necklace, I thought about the image of the clown in real life. Not just the circus trickster or the smiling face painted on at fairs, but the deeper symbol. The clown is a mirror of us. Bright and playful on the outside, hiding complexity within.

The heart shape holds that paradox, love, joy, and vulnerability, yet painted with humor and absurdity. The off-kilter eyes, the golden star, and the little horns  were all ways to capture that edge between laughter and melancholy.
